How to Embed a Quiz on Your Website: 6 Formats & Step-by-Step Guide

How-To · Embed

Embed your interactive quiz on any website in 2 minutes — no developers, no manual coding. Choose the right format and start collecting leads right after publishing.

What is quiz embed

Embed is a way to place a quiz builder directly — without redirecting visitors to an external page. You copy the generated code from your quiz settings and paste it into your site. The quiz appears as a native part of your page, not as an external link.

This matters for conversion: when a visitor stays on your site and fills out a form right there — they trust you more than if they’re sent to a third-party page. An embedded quiz feels like part of the page, not an ad.

How it works: go to your quiz settings in your AdsQuiz account → open “Installing a quiz on your website” → enter your domain → choose an embed format → configure sizes, colors and display conditions → click “Generate code” → paste the script on your site. Works with WordPress, Webflow, Shopify and any other platform.

6 quiz embed formats for your website

AdsQuiz offers six different quiz embed options, each suited for a specific task. Use one — or combine several across different pages.

Standard

Embedded in the page

The quiz is displayed directly in the page body, like a regular content block. Ideal for landing pages where the quiz is the main conversion element.

Popup

Pop-up triggered by condition

The quiz appears as a modal window — triggered by a button click, time delay, or exit intent. Doesn’t interrupt browsing until the visitor is ready.

Chat Button

Chat bubble in the corner

A button with an icon appears in the corner of the page. Click — the quiz opens. Looks like a support chat, but instead of an agent — an automated quiz.

Fullscreen

Full-screen mode

The quiz takes up the entire screen — maximum focus, zero distractions. Best for multi-step quizzes where visitor concentration matters.

Feedback

Fixed panel at the bottom

A narrow panel is fixed at the bottom of the screen. Click to expand into a quiz. Always visible even while scrolling, without taking up page space.

Sidebar

Slide-out from the side

The quiz slides in from the side — left or right. Doesn’t cover the main content but is always accessible. Great for sites with long articles.

Step-by-step embed setup guide

1

Open your quiz settings

Log in to your AdsQuiz account, select the quiz you want to embed, go to its settings, then open the section “Installing a quiz on your website”.

2

Enter your site domain

In the “Domain” field, type your website address, for example mysite.com. This ensures the embed code works correctly. You can add multiple domains if the quiz is placed on several sites.

Note: enter the domain without https:// — just the site name.
3

Choose the embed format

Click on the format that fits your goal: Standard, Popup, Chat Button, Fullscreen, Feedback, or Sidebar. Each format shows a preview of how the quiz will look on your site.

Standard

For landing pages and service pages — quiz embedded directly in the page body.

Chat Button

For any site — unobtrusive quiz trigger via an icon in the corner.

Popup

For blogs and online stores — quiz appears based on a trigger condition.

Fullscreen

For detailed product matching quizzes — full immersion, zero distractions.

Feedback

Fixed bottom panel — always visible while scrolling, expands into quiz on click.

Sidebar

Slides in from the side of the page. Doesn’t cover content but always accessible.

4

Configure display settings

Depending on the format chosen, you’ll have different customization options. Here are the main ones:

Quiz size

Width and height in pixels or percentage. For standard embed — 100% width and 600–700px height.

Device display

Show on all devices, desktop only, or mobile only — your choice.

Display conditions

Trigger: after a time delay, on button click, or exit intent (visitor attempts to close the site).

Call icon

For Chat Button and Feedback formats — chat, question mark, form, phone or custom icon.

5

Generate the code and paste it on your site

After configuring the settings, click “Generate code”. Paste it into your site’s HTML before the closing </body> tag, or into a custom HTML block in your website builder (WordPress, Webflow, Wix and others support this out of the box).

WordPress: paste via the “Custom HTML” block in Gutenberg, or use the Insert Headers and Footers plugin. Shopify: paste the script into the right theme template via the code editor. On any platform, the principle is the same — copy both scripts and insert them on the page.

How to increase quiz embed conversion

A properly configured embed is half the battle. Here’s what else helps get more leads.

1

Place above the fold

A quiz in the first screen gets 2–3x more interactions than one placed below.

2

Set a delay for pop-ups

A pop-up after 15–20 seconds is far less annoying than one that fires immediately on page load.

3

One quiz per page

Don’t place multiple embeds on one page. One clear CTA means better focus and higher conversion.

4

Match the icon to your design

For the Chat Button format, pick an icon that fits your site’s visual style — it increases click-through rate.

5

Connect analytics pixels

Set up event tracking in Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel — so you can see the real cost per lead.

6

Connect your CRM

Set up lead transfer to your CRM via webhook — the quiz will automatically pass leads without manual work.

7

Remove the watermark

If needed, the AdsQuiz watermark can be disabled in your individual quiz settings.

Where quiz embed works best

🏠

Real Estate

Property matching quiz on a developer’s or agency’s site. The client answers 4–5 questions and gets a personalized property selection.

🛒

E-commerce

Product matching by parameters — sidebar or pop-up. Replaces search and helps customers find what they need faster.

🎓

Education

“Find your course” quiz embedded on a school’s landing page — instead of a boring registration form.

🏥

Healthcare

Consultation booking quiz or doctor matching. Standard embed at the bottom of a services page.

🏗

Construction & Renovation

Renovation cost calculator or materials selection — works great fullscreen, replacing complex calculation forms.

💼

B2B & Services

Chat button quiz on a corporate site — quietly collecting potential client contacts 24/7.

7 mistakes when embedding a quiz on your website

1

Not entering the domain in settings

Without the correct domain, the embed code may not display properly or get blocked. Always fill in the “Domain” field before copying the code.

2

Pasting the code into <head> instead of </body>

The quiz script should be placed before the closing </body> tag, not in the page header. Otherwise the quiz may not load or may slow down your site.

3

Fixed height too small for the content

If the quiz has many questions and the iframe height is fixed too small — a scrollbar appears inside the quiz. Set a height with enough margin or use auto-height.

4

Multiple pop-ups on one page

Two pop-up windows at the same time is a guaranteed way to annoy visitors. Maximum one embed type per page.

5

Not checking the display after publishing

After embedding, always open the page in a browser and on a smartphone. Sometimes the site builder modifies the code structure when saving.

6

Disabling mobile when the quiz is needed everywhere

If you turned off mobile display but most of your traffic comes from smartphones — you’re losing the majority of potential leads.

7

Not connecting a CRM after embedding

The quiz collects leads, but if you don’t set up transfer to your CRM or at least to email — leads just pile up in the account and managers don’t see them in time.

Frequently asked questions

No. You simply copy the ready-made code from your AdsQuiz quiz settings and paste it into the right place on your site. Most website builders (WordPress, Webflow, Wix) have dedicated blocks for pasting HTML code — no programming required.

Technically — as many as you want. But it’s recommended to use one quiz per page. You can have different quizzes on different pages — for example, a product finder on the catalog page and a consultation booking quiz on the Contacts page.

Yes. Go to the quiz settings, choose a new embed format, copy the new code and replace the old one on your site. If you’re only changing the visual appearance (e.g. icon or button color) — for some parameters it’s enough to update the settings without replacing the code.

The impact is minimal. The script loads asynchronously and doesn’t block page rendering. For maximum speed, paste the code before the closing </body> tag, not in <head>.

Yes. In the embed settings there is a device display toggle — choose all devices, desktop only, or mobile only. Disable mobile if your mobile site layout is completely different.

Yes, and it’s one of the most popular methods. Paste the code via the “Custom HTML” block in the Gutenberg editor, or use the Insert Headers and Footers plugin for global placement across all pages. Elementor, Divi and other page builders are also supported.

Yes. In the quiz settings there is an “Add domain” button — you can specify several addresses. This is useful if one quiz is placed on both your main site and a micro-landing page.

Yes. Paste the quiz script into the right theme template via the Shopify code editor. The principle is the same as on other platforms — copy both scripts from your quiz settings and add them to the page. Don’t forget to enter your store’s domain in the quiz settings.
