Google Tag Manager
Setting up Google Tag Manager in an AdsQuiz quiz
Google Tag Manager is a tag management tool that lets you add and configure analytics and ad scripts on a website without touching the code. Instead of asking a developer every time you need a new pixel or script, a marketer does it themselves in a few minutes through the GTM interface.
For AdsQuiz quizzes, GTM is especially useful when you need to connect several analytics tools at once, set up custom events or quickly change tags without pausing ad campaigns.
Why connect Google Tag Manager to a quiz
Google Tag Manager with AdsQuiz gives you maximum flexibility in managing analytics and ad pixels:
- Centralised tag management – connect different tools through one GTM container without changing the quiz settings
- Flexible event setup – track any user action in the quiz and send it to any analytics tool
- Quick changes without a developer – all changes to tags and triggers are made in the GTM interface and published in one click
⚙️ How to connect Google Tag Manager to an AdsQuiz quiz
Step 1. Open the integration settings
Go to: Quiz settings → Integrations → Google Tag Manager.
Step 2. Find your GTM container ID
Open your Google Tag Manager account. The container ID is shown at the top of the page in the format GTM-XXXXXXX. Copy it.
Step 3. Paste the ID and save
Paste the copied container ID into the field in the AdsQuiz integration settings and click «Save». After saving, the GTM container is connected to the quiz and all the tags set up in it start working on the quiz pages.
💡 Tip: After connecting, check the tags in Google Tag Manager's Preview mode – open the quiz in GTM preview and make sure all tags fire correctly at each step of the quiz.
❓ Frequently asked questions
Do I need technical skills to work with GTM? Basic tasks – connecting analytics and pixels – don't require technical skills. For more complex setups, such as custom events or conditional triggers, you may need help from a developer or a marketer experienced with GTM.
Does connecting GTM affect how fast the quiz loads? GTM can slightly affect loading speed if the container has many heavy scripts. We recommend connecting only the tags you need and regularly reviewing the container for outdated or unused tags.
